Further notes

Dino Stalker, known in Japan as Gun Survivor 3: Dino Crisis (ガンサバイバー3 ディノクライシス Gansabaibā 3 Deinokuraishisu?), is a first-person shooter video game created by Capcom released for the PlayStation 2 on June 27, 2002. It is a light-gun based game, but can be played by other means.

Dino Stalker is the third instalment in the Gun Survivor series by Capcom and contains characters from Dino Crisis 2. The Gun Survivor games are a spinoff of the Resident Evil series, however, Dino Stalker is the only game in the series with ties to Dino Crisis instead. The next game in the Gun Survivor series was Resident Evil: Dead Aim.

IGN 4.0 out of 10[2]

Dino Stalker faced a mixed-to-negative reception by game reviewers. The game was released without fanfare at a time when news on Dino Crisis 3 was supposed to be coming out, giving IGN the impression the game was made in a hurry due to the other title's delay.[2]

In terms of gameplay, the first-person style was derided as poor-quality and being a mixture of elements from Resident Evil Survivor and Time Crisis 2,[2][1] with the added issue of causing sore hands for GunCon 2 users due to awkward controls.[2] In terms of plot, GameSpot considered the plot to be "bizarre and convoluted", and that it existed only for the sake of moving the player between stages.[1] In terms of visuals, IGN found the cinematics underwhelming, and compared them to the graphical capabilities of the original PlayStation.[2] GameSpot was similarly underwhelmed, though considered that the resolution was so poor they may as well have been played with the game's engine, adding that textures in-game were noticeably blurry.[1]
