Dino Crisis 2 is a third-person action/survival horror game and sequel to Dino Crisis. The game was developed and published by Capcom and Virgin Interactive, respectively and was released for the PlayStation on September 30, 2000. The game received mixed to positive reviews and was followed by another sequel, Dino Crisis 3, which was released in 2003 for the Xbox. However, the official story-arc sequel to Dino Crisis 2 is actually Dino Stalker.
One year has passed since the incident on Ibis Island. Dr. Kirk's research on Third Energy has been taken over by a government agency, and studies have continued somewhere in the mid-west. However a major accident has occurred, causing an entire research facility, military base and a nearby city to disappear into another time. A rescue mission is organized and Regina, along with new ally Dylan Morton , are sent in with other members of the Tactical Reconnaissance and Acquisition Team to rescue any survivors and retrieve any available data on Third Energy research. The player alternates between Regina and Dylan at specific points in the game.
Characters
Regina (voiced by Stephanie Morgenstern - The main secondary protagonist. A Member of the Secret Operation Raid Team (S.O.R.T) that reports directly to the government. She is a survivor from a previous mission to capture Dr. Kirk, which took place a year previously (the first Dino Crisis). Her agility and cool judgement are her biggest strengths. (Playable)
Dylan Morton (voiced by Gabriel Hogan) - The main primary protagonist. A member of T.R.A.T. and previously an officer within the governmental military. He has a strong body and mind that can endure any adverse circumstances. Though lacking in agility, he is proefficient at handling standard and heavy firearms. (Playable)
David Falk (voiced by Eric Hempsall) - One of Dylanās team members who appears always cheerful and raises the morale of the team, always wearing a cowboy hat. Though his fighting style is not as strong as Dylan's, his friendliness is his largest strength.
Paula Morton (voiced by Lisa Yamanaka) - One of the mysterious hostile survivors of Edward City. She is eventually apprehended by Regina and acts rather timid and curious around Dylan. She holds a significant key in the story and appears randomly throughout the game.
It is worth noting that Gail and Rick from the first Dino Crisis game are playable in the Dino Colosseum mini-game.
